Political tensions in Anantapur have surged, particularly between TDP leader JC Prabhakar Reddy and BJP leaders, amid ongoing disputes related to the release of fly ash from a power plant in Kadapa. The simmering rivalry between JC and BJP leader Adinarayana Reddy has now erupted into a full-blown political conflict.
The controversy reached a new height when JC indirectly targeted the BJP by repeatedly raising concerns about the fly ash issue. The dispute expanded as party leaders from both sides became more involved, with BJP senior leader and Minister Satya Kumar Yadav joining the fray.
What Happened?
On December 31, during New Year’s celebrations in Tadipatri, JC Prabhakar Reddy organized an event, claiming to have arranged special programs for women. However, BJP women leaders Madhavilata and Yamini Sharma criticized JC for allowing women to perform dances at the event, calling the activity inappropriate. This criticism led to a sharp response from JC, who expressed his displeasure at the BJP’s interference in his local affairs.
In retaliation, JC made controversial remarks, accusing BJP leaders of behaving inappropriately and worse than “hijras.” He questioned the BJP’s involvement in his local event and expressed frustration over their criticism.
As the tension escalated, JC also brought up the tragic fire accident involving a “JC Travels” bus, which was initially attributed to a short circuit. However, JC insinuated that the BJP might have been involved in the incident, further fueling the political drama and shifting the controversy in multiple directions.
Satya Kumar Yadav’s Response
In a counter-attack, BJP leader and Minister Satya Kumar Yadav criticized JC for creating unnecessary disruptions while the coalition government continued to deliver governance. Yadav suggested that JC should act more maturely, given his age, and questioned the logic behind his accusations. He also reminded JC of past allegations against his businesses, including questions regarding the source of his buses, which the BJP had never addressed publicly.
Yadav strongly rebuked JC for making baseless comments about the BJP and for projecting personal issues as state-level problems. He emphasized that the coalition government at both the state and central levels was functioning smoothly and that JC’s attempts to drag the BJP into his personal controversies were uncalled for.
