It has been quite some time since Pooja Hegde appeared in a Telugu film. Her last outing in Tollywood was Acharya (2022). Though she was initially part of Guntur Kaaram, she walked out of the project midway. During the promotions of her recent film Retro, Pooja revealed that she had signed a romantic drama, which will officially mark her comeback to Telugu cinema.
Recently, when Dulquer Salmaan launched his new film, speculation grew that Pooja Hegde would be part of the project. Several reports even suggested it as her comeback film. However, in a surprising twist, Shruti Haasan confirmed in a recent interview that she is indeed playing the lead role in that film.
This revelation left fans curious about Pooja’s actual comeback project. While some believe that both actresses might feature in the film, others speculate that Shruti could have replaced Pooja. For clarity, fans will have to wait for an official statement from either Pooja or the makers.
The untitled film, directed by debutant Ravi Nelakuditi and produced by Sudhakar Cherukuri of Dasara fame, was officially launched earlier this month. Until further confirmation, the mystery around Pooja Hegde’s Tollywood return continues to keep fans guessing.
