Priyanka Chopra’s maiden attempt in Hollywood – Baywatch – turned out to be a damp squib. The film released this Friday has opened to poor reviews all over pouring cold water on Hollywood chances of PC. Based on the TV show of the same name, the film received brickbats from critics all over. While most of the ratings were between 1 to 2.5 out of 5, it’s said that the film neither sinks nor floats.
Especially, all the critics have unanimously sympathized with Priyanka’s very limited role that she has nothing much to do. Seen as Victoria Leeds, an owner of Huntley Club, she has got a brief and less-important role. Given the hype and promotion, certainly this is not something PC’s fans expected to see.
Critics and audiences opine that Priyanka deserves a better role. Going by reviews and poor word-of-mouth, trade is expecting that even film’s promotion costs may not be recovered let alone the investment. Let’s wait and see.
