Young Tamil actor Pradeep Ranganathan, who made a strong impression with his first two films, Love Today and Dragon, has achieved yet another milestone with his latest release, Dude. The film has turned out to be a consecutive 100-crore grosser, following the success of Dragon. If Pradeep manages to achieve another 100-crore success with his upcoming film, Love Insurance Kompany (LIK), he will become the only hero to have three consecutive 100-crore grosser films in a single calendar year.
Released on October 17, Dude reportedly collected 100 crores within six days of its release, emerging as a superhit at the box office. Pradeep’s next project, LIK, is slated for release on December 18, marking his third release of the year. After two back-to-back 100-crore hits, the anticipation is high to see if he can complete the hat-trick with LIK.
Given the success of Dude, expectations for LIK are already significant. The film is likely to have strong openings in Tamil Nadu and the Telugu states, provided it manages to engage audiences effectively. If it meets audience expectations, LIK could easily become another 100-crore grosser, reinforcing Pradeep’s bankability.
While many assume that Pradeep’s debut film Love Today was a 100-crore success, trade reports suggest it collected just over Rs. 90 crores, falling slightly short of the milestone. Nonetheless, with Dragon and Dude comfortably crossing the 100-crore mark, Pradeep has established himself as one of the most reliable and promising stars in the Tamil film industry today.
