Actress Pragathi, a veteran of Tollywood who has worked with nearly all A-list actors, recently made headlines not just for her acting but for her incredible achievements in powerlifting. Known for sharing her fitness journey with fans, Pragathi often faced criticism for her gym attire. She addressed this openly at the pre-release event of Three Roses Season 2, where she was honored for her remarkable sporting accomplishments.
Speaking at the event, Pragathi said,
“When I started working out, people commented, ‘Is that necessary at this age? Why wear such clothes to the gym?’ But we have to wear proper gym attire—we can’t work out in sarees or churidars. I used to ask myself, ‘Am I doing something wrong?’ My daughter has friends who see these videos; what would they think? I decided to answer the trolls by achieving something big. The medals I’ve won are my answer to them, and I hope they understand and stop commenting, at least for now.”
She dedicated her medals to every woman in the film industry, encouraging them to chase their dreams regardless of age or criticism. She added,
“I have worked with top actors, but none have congratulated me—yet that’s alright.”
Pragathi recently achieved a milestone in sports, representing India at the 2025 Asian Open and Masters Powerlifting Championship in Turkey. She brought home four medals: a gold in deadlift and three silvers in bench press, squat, and overall category—cementing her status as an inspiring figure both on and off the screen.
