Telugu girl Pranathy Gangaraju was crowned Miss India USA 2014. Miss India USA is the oldest running Indian pageant outside India. 19 year old Pranathy is a student in film acting and production. Singing, dancing, writing and swimming are Pranathi’s hobbies. New York-based IFC headed by Dharmatma Saran organised the 33rd annual pageant on Sunday.
Monica Gill, outgoing queen crowned Pranathy Gangaraju after she became the winner. Pranathy will noe represent USA in the Twenty Fourth Annual Miss India Worldwide Pageant, also organised by IFC, to be held in Goa, India in June of 2016.
24 year old Monica Shah of Florida and 27 year old Angela Nand of Hwaii came first and second runners up from 21 contestants from various parts of USA. Riya Kaur from New Jersey was crowned Miss Teen India USA and Namita Dodwadkar of Massachuseets was also crowned the First Ever Mrs India USA in the same pageant.
