Daggubati Suresh Babu Elected TFCC President, Progressive Panel Wins

Popular producer and leading exhibitor Daggubati Suresh Babu has been elected as the new president of the Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce (TFCC) after his Progressive Panel secured a decisive victory over the Mana Panel in Sunday’s elections. Ashok Kumar will serve as the new secretary, while producer Surya Devara Nag Vamshi and Bharat Chowdary will take charge as vice presidents.
This year’s elections saw two major panels contesting for various posts across the producers, exhibitors, distributors, and studios sectors. Suresh Babu led the Progressive Panel, which includes prominent industry names such as Dil Raju, Allu Aravind, KS Rama Rao, Y. Ravi Shankar, Swapna Dutt, and several others. The Mana Panel was led by Chadalavada Srinivas, C Kalyan, YVS Chowdary, and Prasanna Kumar.
As per Film Chamber rules, the president’s post this year was reserved for the exhibitors’ sector. Suresh Babu contested for the position and won with a clear majority. Prior to the presidential election, chairpersons for all four sectors and 44 executive committee members from different groups were elected, with 31 members from the Progressive Panel and 17 from the Mana Panel.
Out of a total of 3,355 registered members, only 43% (1,421 votes) were polled during the election. Several prominent heroes, who are also producers, did not exercise their voting rights. The newly elected panel will lead the chamber until 2027, setting the direction for the Telugu film industry in the coming years.
