Process of state bifurcation has begun

PCC Chief Botcha Satyanarayana has said the process of creation of separate Telangana State has begun. He also said the Antony Committee would commence its hearing on the grievances of Seemandhra people on August 19 and 20.

Speaking to the media after a meeting with the Ministers from Telangana region here on Friday at Gandhi Bhavan, Botcha asked the all leaders to cooperate in the process of bifurcation of the State peacefully. Clarifying that there was no connection between the Antony Committee and division of the State, he said the Union Home Ministry would also consider the Antony Committee recommendations.

The PCC chief said the Antony Committee was constituted for hearing objections raised by all Congress leaders. He said the Committee will collect the information from both the regions.

On August 19, the Committee will hear the leaders from Telangana region and on August 20, it will give audience to the Seemandhra leaders. He also said the Seemandhra leaders would meet the Chief Minister at 5 pm on August 17 at the Camp Office. He said he would consider if the party leaders wanted to meet the Antony Committee individually.

Meanwhile, Deputy Chief Minister C. Damodar Rajanarasimha, Panchayatraj Minister K Jana Reddy, Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar, MLC Shabbir Ali and others met the PCC Chief.
