Comedian Prudhvi was not expecting such jolt from his wife. He didn’t take it serious when his wife Sree Lakshmi filed a case against him in a family court in Vijayawada. She has been fighting with him legally for the past one year.
Prudhvi has now been asked to pay a monthly alimony of eight lakh rupees to his estranged wife. A court in Vijayawada gave such judgement when Sree Lakshmi approached the court saying her husband thrown her out of their home. They have been living separately.
As the actor is doing well in commercial cinema after the success as a leading comedian in the recent years the court fixed as Rs 8 lakhs as the sum for alimony, which is a huge amount.
Last year, she also came in front of the media and said that Prudhvi has been living with another woman leaving her in the lurch. She also said Prudhvi is a drunkard, has had many affairs with actresses, junior artistes.
Sree Lakshmi, in her plea, had told the court that she had married Prudhvi in Vijayawada in 1984 but he deserted her two years ago. She added she has been living alone in Vijayawada since 2016 April after Prudhvi thrown out of their home in Hyderabad.
Prudhvi is currently shooting for a movie in USA. He didn’t attend the family court’s proceedings. Luckily for Prudhvi, his elder son came to his rescue. He defended his father.
Their son said relatives in Vijayawada are misleading his mother. He said his father and mother both are innocent but have small differences.
“These would have been sorted out but unfortunately my mother under the influence went to court. My father will address the press once he is back,” he said.
