Not all love stories end with the signing of divorce papers; some continue to linger in memories, choices, and unspoken affections. The relationship between Tamil actor-director R. Parthiban and actress Seetha is one such tale—a journey marked by love, separation, and an enduring emotional bond.
Their story began on the sets of Pudiya Padai, Parthiban’s directorial debut, where Seetha played the leading lady. What started as a reel romance soon turned real, leading to marriage, two daughters, and an adopted son. However, like many film industry relationships, theirs took a different course, and by 2001, they parted ways through mutual consent.
Seetha moved on, remarrying before going through another divorce in 2016. Parthiban, however, remained unmarried by choice. In a recent interview, he shared a deeply personal revelation—he never remarried, not due to a lack of opportunity, but because he had already given Seetha the place of his wife. “I never bought a new house after our divorce. I still live in a rented one. I never remarried because I had already given Seetha that place, and I cannot give it to anyone else,” he confessed.
Despite living separate lives, their paths crossed only once after their separation—when Seetha’s mother passed away. In an industry where relationships often fade with time, Parthiban’s quiet devotion stands as a rare exception. He may not label it as love, but in a world that constantly moves forward, his decision to hold on to memories rather than move on speaks volumes, perhaps louder than any grand declaration ever could.
