Megastar Chiranjeevi has almost lost his relevance in Andhra Pradesh politics after he merged his Praja Rajyam Party with the Congress a few years ago.The only political tag that he has now is the Rajya Sabha seat given by the Congress party and once the term ends, there is no way he can sustain in politics.Chiranjeevi also knows this; and that is why he is trying to protect his identity by returning to film industry. However, the recent agitation by Kapu strongman Mudragada Padmanabham has rekindled his hopes of surviving in politics at least for some more time.
He thought by taking up the Kapu cause, he can get back into limelight and who knows, he might even play a bigger role in AP politics in the coming days.May be, sensing the potential in Kapu agitation that might unseat TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu from power in the next elections, Andhra Jyothy managing director V Radhakrishna, who is more loyal to Naidu than the king himself, has warned Chiranjeevi.
He said as of now, Chiranjeevi is loved by all sections of people. Though he belongs to Kapu community, he has fans in all the communities and is considered as “Andarivadu.” But, if he takes up the Kapu cause, he will be confined only to that community and lose universal appeal.“This will only damage the image of Chiranjeevi. If he wants to be a true politician, he should not fight for just one community,” Radhakrishna cautioned.
