Rahman’s Music Under Scrutiny After Thug Life Flop

Kamal Haasan and Mani Ratnam’s much-anticipated film Thug Life has turned out to be a major disappointment for the audience. Many are comparing its failure to Kamal Haasan’s earlier flop, Indian 3, with reports suggesting this film might follow a similar fate.

On the music front, AR Rahman, who composed the soundtrack and background score, also failed to impress. Except for a couple of songs, the album received a lukewarm response, and the background score was widely criticized as a letdown.

Mega fans are growing concerned about Rahman’s involvement, especially since he is also composing for Ram Charan’s upcoming film, Peddi. After the mixed reaction to Thug Life, there are worries that Rahman might deliver a similarly disappointing score for Peddi. Director Buchi Babu Sana faces a significant challenge in extracting the best performance from the Oscar-winning composer.

However, the initial glimpses of Peddi did showcase a promising background score by Rahman, and the teaser was well received. Still, the disappointment around Thug Life has cast a shadow of doubt. Fans hope Buchi Babu Sana will closely collaborate with Rahman throughout the production to ensure the music elevates the film rather than dragging it down. They expect that lessons learned from Thug Life will guide the team to take necessary precautions and deliver a memorable musical experience with Peddi.
