He chose his favourite genre of underworld for his next and announced the same. RGV is all set to make a movie on reformed don Muthappa Rai with Vivek Oberoi in lead role. Earlier he planned to rope in Kannada actor Sudeep for lead role of previous title ‘Appa’, but later due to unexpected circumstances he was replaced by Vivek Oberoi and with new title ‘Rai’.

The movie will be shot in Mangalore, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Dubai and London and obliging the request of RGV, the don turned entrepreneur Mutthappa Rai himself agreed to launch the first look poster of ‘Rai’ on first day of May. The movie is set for release in Telugu, Kannada, Tamil and Hindi. RGV and Vivek Oberoi joined hands for movies ‘Company’ and Rakta Charitra which were superhits then.

For starters, Muthappa Rai was most wanted criminal and don for 20 long years who operated from Dubai and later he reformed into an entrepreneur and social activist in Karnataka.
