It’s no secret that SS Rajamouli, one of India’s most iconic filmmakers, takes his time crafting cinematic masterpieces. His previous blockbusters like Baahubali and RRR are proof of the intense planning and years-long production cycles he prefers. Now, it seems the same approach is being followed for his much-awaited film with Mahesh Babu.
As per the latest industry buzz, Rajamouli’s upcoming action-adventure with Mahesh is tentatively aiming for a Summer 2027 release. Interestingly, March 25 is being considered as a potential release date — the same day RRR hit theatres and made history.
If this timeline holds, it would mean Rajamouli has taken nearly five years post-RRR to bring his next project to life. This speaks volumes about the scale, ambition, and complexity of the film, which is rumored to be a globe-trotting adventure drama unlike anything Indian cinema has seen before.
However, it’s important to note that this is just a tentative plan, and no official announcement has been made yet. As of now, we’re still in April 2025, so there’s ample time for plans to shift. Much will depend on the speed and efficiency of the production schedule.
Some reports also hint that if things progress faster than expected, there’s a slim possibility of a Sankranthi 2027 release. But given Rajamouli’s history of meticulous execution, a summer release seems more realistic.
With high expectations riding on this Mahesh–Rajamouli collaboration, fans will have to wait a while longer — but if Rajamouli’s track record is anything to go by, the wait will be worth it.
