Ever since Rajinikanth confirmed a collaboration with Kamal Haasan, speculation about who will direct the project has been intensifying. Initially, Lokesh Kanagaraj was widely considered the ideal choice for this high-profile venture.
However, recent rumors suggest that Lokesh may not be associated with the film after all. Currently, he is busy with his acting debut and is slated to direct the Kaithi sequel, followed by his next big multi-starrer, possibly not involving Aamir Khan.
The project, a joint production between Raj Kamal International and Red Giant Films, reportedly has one production house dissatisfied with Lokesh’s recent work on Coolie, prompting them to explore other directorial options.
Among the alternatives, Pradeep Ranganathan is being considered. He recently acted in LIK and Dude and has not committed to any other projects as an actor or director, making him a viable candidate.
As of now, no official announcement has been made, leaving fans of Lokesh anxiously awaiting clarity on the director for this ambitious collaboration.
