Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie was one of the most anticipated films of the year. Even though the makers stayed low-key without making any hype statements, fans had sky-high expectations for the movie. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the film received a mixed response from the audience and fell short of many expectations.
Now, there’s an update on its OTT release: Coolie will premiere on Prime Video in just 28 days. Initially, reports during the theatrical release suggested that the film would arrive on OTT after 6–8 weeks. Many felt that such a big-budget film wouldn’t come to streaming platforms so soon.
Surprisingly, Prime Video has confirmed that Coolie will be available for streaming from September 11th in all four South Indian languages. Notably, the announcement poster does not include Hindi, hinting that the Hindi version may release later. However, this is unlikely to be an issue as viewers can enjoy the film with subtitles.
Interestingly, the earlier media reports during promotions may have worked as an unintentional marketing strategy, showing that sometimes teasers and speculation can build extra buzz for a film.
Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, features an ensemble cast including Nagarjuna, Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, Aamir Khan, Upendra, and of course, Superstar Rajinikanth.
