India recently witnessed the launch of its first-ever Archery Premier League (APL), a major initiative aimed at promoting archery and providing Indian players with a platform to compete on an international stage. The inaugural event featured six teams and 48 archers, including 36 from India and 12 from abroad, celebrating not only sporting talent but also India’s rich traditional heritage.

Ram Charan, serving as the brand ambassador for the league, attended the APL launch in New Delhi. Speaking at the event, he emphasized archery’s historical and cultural significance in India and shared a personal connection to the sport, recalling his portrayal as an archer in the film RRR.

On Saturday, Ram Charan also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi and shared his gratitude on Instagram. He wrote: “Honoured to meet our Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji on the success of the world’s first Archery Premier League, led by Anil Kamineni Garu. PM ji’s guidance and passion for sports will help us preserve and promote the legacy of archery worldwide. Congratulations to all the athletes. We hope many more will join this incredible sport for better mental and physical health.”

The meeting underscores India’s growing focus on sports development and highlights the APL’s role in giving archery greater visibility while inspiring more people, especially young athletes, to take up the sport. The league is expected to elevate India’s presence in international archery competitions.

Meanwhile, Ram Charan is busy shooting a song for his upcoming film Peddi in Pune, directed by Buchi Babu Sana, scheduled for release on March 27, 2026. After completing Peddi, he will begin his next project with director Sukumar.
