Global Star Ram Charan is not just known for his stellar performances on screen, but also for his strong connection to Indian traditions. One such tradition he never compromises on is food. No matter where he is in the world, one meal a day has to be Indian.
His wife, Upasana Konidela, recently opened up in an interview about how seriously Ram Charan takes his meals. “My husband has to eat Indian food wherever we are in the world. One meal has to be Indian,” she revealed. To make this happen, Upasana travels with a pressure cooker—yes, really!
“We take a cooker wherever we go. We put it in the shower, plug it in so we don’t trigger any fire alarms, and voilà—home-cooked food, even in a hotel room,” she laughed.
What started as a sweet gesture of love has now grown into something bigger. Inspired by this idea, Ram Charan’s mother, Surekha Konidela, launched a unique venture in her 60s—Atthamma’s Kitchen. The brand specializes in homemade Indian delicacies and ready mixes with a short shelf life, capturing the essence of authentic Indian cooking.
Rooted in tradition, powered by love, and now turned into a thriving business—this story beautifully shows how the Konidela family blends values and innovation.
