After the blockbuster success of RRR, Ram Charan has been eagerly awaiting a solid solo hit. His brief appearance in Acharya and the underwhelming response to Game Changer left fans anticipating his next big-screen outing. His upcoming film Peddi, directed by Uppena fame Buchi Babu Sana, has emerged as one of the most awaited Telugu projects in production.

Earlier this year, the film’s teaser generated significant buzz online, particularly for the striking final shot in which Ram Charan hits a ball out of the stadium. The makers had originally slated March 27, 2026—coinciding with Charan’s birthday—as the release date.

Currently, the team is filming a romantic duet featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor in Pune, with approximately 60% of the shoot completed. Post-production on the first half of the film is already complete, and editing is progressing simultaneously.

Speaking recently to the media, director Buchi Babu Sana confirmed that the team is working diligently to bring Peddi to theatres on schedule, with a minor change: the release has been preponed by a day to March 26, coinciding with Sri Rama Navami, which falls on a Thursday. This strategic shift aims to leverage the extended four-day weekend for a stronger box-office opening.

The director also revealed that the first song, a romantic number composed by A.R. Rahman, will be unveiled soon. Set in the Uttarandhra region, Peddi is a sports drama featuring Ram Charan and Janhvi Kapoor, with Kannada superstar Shiv Rajkumar in a pivotal role.

Interestingly, Nani’s The Paradise, initially announced for March 26, is now likely to be postponed, giving Peddi a clear window for its grand opening.
