The much-anticipated Dragon has reportedly undergone significant changes, impacting both its production timeline and casting lineup.

After Tovino Thomas confirmed his exit from the project, it has now become clear that the film has gone through multiple revisions. The actor was initially expected to play a grey-shaded role and had reportedly waited several months for his portions to begin shooting.

Director Prashanth Neel is said to have later scrapped portions filmed during the first schedule, leading to major changes in the film’s structure.

Following a key shooting schedule in coastal Karnataka, N. T. Rama Rao Jr. was reportedly not fully satisfied with his character’s look and certain sequences. This reportedly resulted in a production pause that stretched over several months, further delaying the project.

Initially planned for a June 2026 release, the film is now said to have been pushed to summer 2027, marking a delay of over a year.

These extended schedules are also believed to be one of the reasons behind Tovino Thomas stepping away from the project, given his packed commitments in Malayalam cinema.

While the makers are yet to officially announce the full cast, Rukmini Vasanth is rumoured to be playing the female lead. Meanwhile, Anil Kapoor recently hinted at his involvement by sharing updates related to the film’s shoot.

As anticipation continues to build, fans are now eagerly waiting to see whether the makers will unveil the title or release a special glimpse on May 20.
