Ramayana, one of Indian cinema’s most awaited mythological epics, has officially completed the shoot of Part 1. Directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, the film wrapped its first chapter with an emotional farewell. On the final day of shoot, Ranbir addressed the team, calling it the most important role of his career and expressing heartfelt gratitude to the cast and crew.
The excitement surrounding the project is now set to peak as the makers plan to unveil the first official look of the film on July 3, 2025. Titled Ramayana: The Introduction, this promo will include the poster and logo reveal. While a teaser is reportedly ready and certified by the CBFC, it is being held back as the release is still over a year away.
Backed by producer Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is envisioned as a two-part cinematic saga, with Part 1 set for Diwali 2026 and Part 2 for Diwali 2027. Alongside Ranbir, the cast includes Sai Pallavi as Sita, Yash as Ravana, Sunny Deol as Hanuman, Ravi Dubey as Lakshman, Lara Dutta as Kaikeyi, Rakul Preet Singh as Surpanakha, and Kajal Aggarwal as Mandodari.
Behind-the-scenes clips from the wrap day are already trending, especially the emotional interactions between Ranbir and Ravi Dubey, and director Nitesh Tiwari’s heartfelt speech. The film is being made on a massive scale, with visual effects handled by the Oscar-winning studio DNEG. In a groundbreaking move, the team is also using advanced AI technology to deliver native lip-sync in multiple languages, paving the way for a truly global release.
With just a few days to go before the first official glimpse, expectations are sky-high. Ramayana promises not just a cinematic spectacle but a cultural milestone that reimagines the timeless epic for a new generation.
