As previously reported, the makers of the highly anticipated Hindi Ramayan—starring Bollywood’s Ranbir Kapoor and Kannada superstar Yash in the lead roles—have taken a bold and unique creative decision regarding the iconic confrontation between Lord Ram and the Demon King Ravan.
Produced by the acclaimed Namit Malhotra, Ramayana is shaping up to be one of the most ambitious and grand Indian films ever made. With visionary direction, cutting-edge VFX, and a stellar cast featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram and Yash as Raavan, the film promises a powerful and emotionally resonant retelling of the timeless epic.
In a surprising narrative choice, the two protagonists will share minimal screen time together. Sources close to the production reveal this is a conscious decision to maintain authenticity. “The film closely follows the original Valmiki Ramayana, where Lord Ram and Raavan lead largely parallel lives until their paths converge following Sita’s abduction, culminating in their epic showdown in Lanka,” the makers explain.
This storytelling approach not only remains true to the source material but also adds dramatic depth and intensity to the narrative. Currently in production, the film is set to release more promotional content soon, building excitement for what promises to be a landmark cinematic experience.
