Dhurandhar 2 Slows Down in Race to ₹2000 Crore Despite Strong Run

Dhurandhar 2 was widely expected to set a new benchmark at the global box office even before its release. Early trade predictions and fan expectations suggested that the film could easily surpass the ₹2000 crore mark worldwide and challenge the long-standing record of Dangal as the highest-grossing Indian film globally.
However, that projection now appears difficult to achieve.
The film is still performing strongly at the box office, consistently earning over ₹10 crore gross per day. So far, it has collected around ₹1600 crore worldwide, which remains an impressive milestone by any standard.
Despite this strong run, the momentum required to cross the ₹2000 crore mark seems to have slowed in recent days. Analysts point out that the expected acceleration in collections did not materialise as anticipated.
One of the key reasons is the film’s limited performance in regional markets. While it has done very well in its primary language, the dubbed versions have not generated the same level of response across other regions.
In particular, the Telugu release saw a setback, with premiere shows being cancelled and first-day screenings not taking place. The film eventually began its Telugu run only from the third day, which impacted its opening momentum in that market.
Additionally, the narrative and discussions surrounding the film on social media also influenced audience perception to some extent.
These combined factors appear to have slowed down the film’s record-breaking trajectory, even though it continues to maintain a solid box office performance overall.
