Daggubati Rana, who appeared in two films till now, is yet to make an impression as an actor. In Leader, his role was single dimensional that he didn’t get enough scope to emote or exhibit his acting skills. Nenu Naa Rakshasi did give him some scope, but Rana failed big time in getting anything right. In fact NNR raised doubts over Rana’s capabilities as an actor.
Rana’s dances in particular were criticized as he lacks ease. This is a generation which doesn’t let anyone to have weak points. Therefore, Rana had to pull off his strings to let the people know that he isn’t as bad as they think. He is trying his best to prove his critics wrong with Naa Ishtam. As per Rana, he has done some terrific dance moves in this film, for which he had to spend extra hours rehearsing.
Naa Ishtam first look teaser doesn’t live up to Rana’s promise though. Rana has blatantly copied the body language and dance movements of his uncle Venkatesh, is the impression we get after viewing the teaser. Rana might be thinking that imitating is the best way to cover up his weaknesses. ‘Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery’ is what people say. Might be Rana is taking it a bit too serious!
