Ranbir Kapoor Opens Up About Nepotism and Hard Work

Nepotism in the film industry is a recurring topic that often sparks heated debates, as many actors from established film families in Bollywood and the South Indian film industry have found it relatively easier to carve a space in cinema due to their backgrounds. However, few openly acknowledge this advantage — and Ranbir Kapoor appears to be a notable exception.

In a recent media interaction, Ranbir candidly admitted that he is a product of nepotism and is fully aware of the perks of being born into a film dynasty. Yet, he emphasized that lineage alone does not guarantee success. The fourth-generation actor of the renowned Kapoor family explained that he had to develop his own approach and prove his talent over time to sustain a career in the competitive industry.

The Brahmastra actor added that consistent hard work is essential to carve a niche; otherwise, success would remain elusive. He also reflected on the reality behind his family’s celebrated legacy, noting that while their successes are widely praised, there have also been many failures. Ranbir fondly recalled growing up in an environment where music directors, singers, and lyricists regularly visited his home to create songs for his grandfather Raj Kapoor’s films.

On the professional front, Ranbir is currently busy with the much-anticipated epic Ramayana and another project titled Love and War, keeping fans eagerly awaiting his next performances.
