Rashmika Mandanna, who has been on a dream run with back-to-back hits, has encountered a setback in Bollywood. Her latest film, Sikandar, directed by AR Murugadoss and starring Salman Khan, failed to make an impact at the box office despite releasing on the festive occasion of Eid.
On its opening day, Sikandar managed to collect only ₹26 crore in India, marking one of the lowest openings in Salman Khan’s career. This underwhelming performance has left Salman’s fans disappointed, with many citing a weak screenplay and lack of depth in the story as major reasons for its failure. The film opened to negative reviews from its very first show, further dampening its prospects.
For Rashmika, who has solidified her presence in Bollywood with blockbusters like Pushpa, Animal, and Chhaava, this is her first major flop in the Hindi film industry. While setbacks are a part of every actor’s journey, Sikandar’s unexpected failure comes at a time when Rashmika has been riding high on success.
However, given her strong fan following and proven track record, this is likely to be just a minor bump in her otherwise flourishing Bollywood career.
