Redditor Shares Struggles with Poland Visa Process

A recent Reddit post titled “Schengen Visa Denied From Poland, let me tell you about my horrible experience” has shed light on the growing challenges faced by applicants seeking Polish Schengen visas. The post highlights technical glitches, systemic bottlenecks, and the rising role of brokers allegedly exploiting the process.

The anonymous user, a student with a partner in Poland, shared their ordeal of struggling with the VFS Global portal. “At first, I tried to create an account on the VFS website, but it kept giving me errors. After a week of back-and-forth with their customer support, I finally managed to create one,” they wrote. However, securing an appointment proved even harder. According to the student, most slots were snapped up by bots and resold by agencies for as much as €200. They also hinted at rumors of VFS’s possible involvement, though unverified.

Ultimately, the student had to rely on a broker, delaying their plans further. “It took about two weeks for them to arrange an appointment, and by then, our travel schedule was already disrupted,” they explained.

Despite submitting complete paperwork, including financial records and an invitation letter from their partner, the application was rejected without clear explanation. “After a month of waiting and countless calls to VFS, I finally learned my visa had been denied. All the time, money, and effort went down the drain,” the post read.

The user warned others about Poland’s visa process, suggesting that applying through different Schengen countries might be a better option. “Honestly, the Polish system feels unnecessarily complicated. If you’re planning a Europe trip, you’ll likely have a smoother chance applying via another country,” they advised.

This post echoes the growing frustrations among many international travelers, who see Poland’s visa system as opaque, stressful, and potentially exploitative.
