
Redmi on Tuesday unveiled the Redmi 15 5G in India, expanding its popular smartphone lineup with a feature-rich device designed to deliver high performance at an accessible price point.
The Redmi 15 5G is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 6s Gen 3 chipset and runs on Android 15-based HyperOS 2.0, bringing enhanced productivity features, including Google’s Gemini and Circle to Search. A standout feature is its 7,000mAh silicon-carbon battery with 33W fast charging and 18W reverse charging, allowing it to serve as a power source for other devices.
The smartphone sports a 6.9-inch full-HD+ display (1,080×2,340 pixels) with a 144Hz refresh rate, 288Hz touch sampling rate, and 850 nits peak brightness, certified by TÜV Rheinland for low blue light, flicker-free viewing, and circadian-friendly standards.
Pricing starts at ₹14,999 for the 6GB + 128GB variant, ₹15,999 for the 8GB + 128GB version, and ₹16,999 for the 8GB + 256GB option. The device will be available starting August 28 via Amazon, Xiaomi India’s official website, and authorized retail outlets in Frosted White, Midnight Black, and Sandy Purple color options.
In terms of imaging, the Redmi 15 5G features an AI-assisted dual rear camera system with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP front camera, offering advanced features such as AI Sky, AI Beauty, and AI Erase. Additional highlights include Dolby-certified speakers, up to 8GB LPDDR4x RAM, 256GB UFS 2.2 storage, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, IP64 dust and splash resistance, and an IR Blaster.
Xiaomi has committed to two years of major OS updates and four years of security patches, ensuring long-term support for users. The handset weighs 217 grams and measures 168.48×80.45×8.40mm, offering a balance of large battery capacity and manageable form factor.
