Telangana chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao while talking in assembly said that the TRS government is unhappy over the centre’s move to rename Shamshabad airport on NTR. KCR said that centre’s decision to rename the airport without consulting the state government is not acceptable. TRS government has unanimously passed resolution condemning the centre’s move. KCR suggested that NTR’s name can be kept to any one of the four airports in Andhra Pradesh.
The congress party has also supported the resolution. Errabelli Dayakar Rao said that earlier domestic terminal was named as NTR terminal but was renamed by the previous government. He said that one of the terminals can be named on NTR. Errabelli suggested that if the government wish to rename the airport then both the terminals can be named on prominent leaders from Telangana like P V Narasimha rao and another leader.
