A crucial meeting to oppose the reorganization of constituencies took place on Saturday in Chennai, organized by DMK leader and Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin. Invitations were extended to political parties across all South Indian states, with DMK ministers and MPs ensuring that the invites reached party leaders. Notably, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy of Telangana’s ruling Congress party attended the meeting, having left Shamshabad for Chennai on Friday evening. Telangana’s BRS Working President KTR also participated in the gathering.
The BRS, Telangana’s primary opposition party, welcomed Stalin’s initiative. Although KTR had earlier stated that the party would announce their representatives later, he decided to attend personally as the meeting approached. He boarded a flight to Chennai from Shamshabad Airport on Friday night, accompanied by party leaders Jagadish Reddy, Vinod Kumar, and Niranjan Reddy.
The meeting was convened to amplify the voice of South Indian states at the national level, with KTR and Revanth Reddy emerging as the focal points of the discussion. Both leaders have risen to prominence at a young age, holding key political positions. Despite their history of intense rivalry and sharp exchanges, their shared stance on this issue was a significant moment, underscoring their importance as the central figures of the meeting.
