The political landscape in Telangana is heating up amid the ongoing Assembly session, with key issues such as party defections and possible by-elections sparking intense debates. The latest developments have added a new dimension to the political discourse.
The BRS has been strongly opposing the defection of 10 MLAs to the ruling Congress and has even approached the Supreme Court over the issue. Addressing this in the Assembly, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made a rather casual remark, assuring that there will be no by-elections in Telangana.
“No matter what happens, there will be no by-elections in Telangana. This is my assurance to MLAs from different parties. You need not worry because there will be no more by-elections in the state. Even if they (BRS MLAs) resign, there will be no immediate election now,” Revanth stated.
This statement from Revanth Reddy immediately triggered a response from BRS working president KTR, who hit back at the chief minister, further intensifying the political tensions.
