Revanth Reddy Fulfills ₹1 Crore Promise to Singer Rahul Sipligunj

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has officially fulfilled his promise to popular playback singer Rahul Sipligunj by announcing a cash reward of ₹1 crore. This gesture comes in recognition of Rahul’s contribution to the Oscar-winning song “Naatu Naatu” from SS Rajamouli’s global blockbuster RRR.

During his participation in the Bonalu celebrations in Hyderabad’s Old City, CM Revanth Reddy made the announcement, reaffirming the Congress government’s commitment to honor Telangana’s talents. Back in May 2023, Revanth Reddy had criticised the then BRS government for not acknowledging Rahul’s achievement and pledged a personal reward of ₹10 lakh. He also promised that if Congress came to power, the state government would reward Rahul with ₹1 crore.

After Congress formed the government in December 2023, there were concerns raised by Rahul that no official steps had been taken to keep the promise. Recently, during the Gaddar Film Awards, Revanth Reddy addressed this, urging Deputy CM Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka to expedite the process.

True to his word, Revanth Reddy has now formally declared the ₹1 crore reward, lauding Rahul Sipligunj as an inspiration to the youth and a proud representative of Telangana on the global stage.
