Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy made strong remarks against BRS leader Harish Rao on Sunday while addressing the media at the SLBC tunnel accident site in Domalapenta. After personally inspecting the site and holding a review meeting with officials, Revanth responded sharply to opposition claims that he had ignored the tragedy for a week.
Dismissing these allegations, Revanth stated that his government acted swiftly, with Irrigation Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy leading the rescue efforts on the ground, leveraging his military experience. Ministers Jupally Krishna Rao and Komatireddy Venkata Reddy were also actively involved. He emphasized that although he hadn’t visited the site earlier, he had been closely monitoring the situation.
Turning his attention to Harish Rao, Revanth raised serious questions about his whereabouts after the accident. He alleged that Harish left for Dubai soon after the incident and spent two days in Abu Dhabi, attending parties and hosting lavish dinners. He challenged Harish to deny these claims and warned that passport and airport records could verify the truth.
Furthermore, Revanth mocked Harish Rao’s justification that his visit would have interfered with rescue operations, questioning why the same logic did not apply to a Chief Minister’s visit. He criticized Harish for dismissing opposition statements while making accusations himself.
While Revanth maintained that his intent was not to target Harish’s personal life, his remarks have triggered a major political controversy. The allegations of Harish Rao’s Dubai visit post-tragedy have now become a focal point of heated debates in Telangana’s political circles.
