Malkajgiri MP A Revanth Reddy took charge as the new president of Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) on Wednesday at Gandhi Bhavan in Hyderabad.
Party activists from various districts have come in large numbers. This caused a commotion at Gandhi Bhavan. Earlier, Revanth Reddy conducted special pujas at the Jubilee Hills Peddamma Thalli Temple. Outgoing president N Uttam Kumar Reddy handed over the charge amidst chanting of mantras.
The leadership of the Telangana Congress has changed nearly seven years after Uttam Kumar Reddy took charge in February 2015.
The swearing-in ceremony of Mr Reddy was attended by Congress Legislature Party leader Bhatti Vikramarka, the AICC in-charge of Telangana Manickam, Tagore and all the senior leaders of the party. Komatireddy brothers Venkat Reddy, Raja Gopal Reddy and others reached Gandhi Bhavan separately.
