Revanth Reddy’s Remarks on Kedar Selagamsetty’s Death Spark Controversy

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has sparked controversy with his remarks on the sudden demise of Telugu film producer Kedar Selagamsetty. Kedar, who had traveled to Dubai for a wedding, was found dead in his hotel room. While initial reports suggested he passed away in his sleep, speculation soon arose about a possible drug overdose.

During his visit to New Delhi on Wednesday, CM Revanth Reddy highlighted that several individuals with alleged links to drug-related cases have been dying under suspicious circumstances. He urged the media to pay attention to such incidents and assured that a thorough investigation would be conducted if any formal complaints were filed.

Adding to the controversy, Revanth Reddy questioned why former Telangana Minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) had not called for an inquiry into such cases. His remarks subtly hinted at a possible connection between these deaths and KTR’s tenure.

Kedar Selagamsetty had deep ties within the Telugu film industry and was previously involved in the pub business. He was also investigated in connection with a drug case linked to a party at Hyderabad’s Radisson Hotel last year. However, authorities identified him as a victim rather than a supplier in the case.

Apart from his business ventures, Kedar had announced a film with Vijay Deverakonda under the direction of Sukumar, but the project never materialized. His untimely demise has now become a focal point of political discourse in Telangana.
