We already reported that Preliminary work is under way between AP government and US officials to facilitate a meeting between Obama and Naidu. As part of that today Naidu have close door meeting with delegation from the US State Department met him.
According to reports Naidu urged the US delegation to set up a consulate in Vijayawada, where the state is building its new capital. The delegation led by Assistant Secretary of State for Political-Military Affairs Puneet Talwar and Naidu reportedly asked them to setup a US Consulate In Vijayawada saying that most of the people flying to the US from this region.
The US officials reportedly said that they would consider the possibility of setting up a branch office in Vijayawada. Naidu planning to discuss the same with Obama and it was the one of the biggest request from Naidu when the latter meet him.
