Young hero Roshan Meka, son of actor Srikanth, was re-launched on a grand scale with Champion. In an exclusive interview, Roshan opened up about his journey in films and the experiences that shaped his career so far.

Roshan revealed that he made his debut at the age of 16 with Nirmala Convent and later appeared in K. Raghavendra Rao’s Pelli SandaD.

“My father initially encouraged me to pursue cricket, but after Nirmala Convent, I decided to follow my passion for films. Shooting for Pelli SandaD felt like a fun experience. When I first heard the story of Champion, I immediately connected with Michael. He’s my kind of person—cool, easygoing, and a football lover, just like me. Football has been a part of my life since childhood, so I felt I could naturally fit into this character,” Roshan shared.

The young actor also revealed that he kept the film under wraps from his father during the shoot. “To maintain the element of surprise, I didn’t show nanna any footage. When he finally watched it, he was thrilled and hugged me, saying he didn’t expect such a performance from me.”

Roshan admitted that he was already aware of the challenges of acting, having spent considerable time on his father’s film sets. “I got injured while shooting Rudhramadevi, dislocated my shoulder during Pelli SandaD, and sustained several injuries while working on Champion. Despite the hardships, I genuinely enjoy the process.”
