Andhra Pradesh Deputy Speaker Raghu Rama Krishnam Raju (RRR) has issued a stern warning to former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regarding his absence from the Assembly sessions. RRR emphasized that Jagan must participate in the sessions to voice his opinions on public policies and to represent his constituency of Pulivendula effectively. He stated that he is waiting to see Jagan fulfill his responsibilities as an elected MLA.
RRR went further to warn Jagan that failing to attend the Assembly sessions could lead to disqualification. He clarified that any MLA who misses more than 60 days of the Assembly without prior permission can be disqualified, which could trigger a by-election in Pulivendula.
Jagan’s reluctance to attend the Assembly has been attributed to various factors, including potential challenges posed by NDA candidates, with RRR possibly being one of the key reasons behind Jagan’s hesitation to enter the Assembly.
This development draws attention to past instances when Jagan and Chandrababu Naidu had also skipped Assembly sessions in 2017 and 2022, respectively, without facing consequences. The key question now remains: will Jagan face action for his absence this time? If so, it would require RRR to go beyond his usual role to ensure this regulation is enforced.
