Rs 10,000 cr Black Money In New Capital Region?

Former IAS officer, IS Sharma has expressed serious concern at the activity in the new capital region.

“Buying lands at throwaway prices and selling them at exorbitant prices is very much underway in the new capital region. Nearly Rs 10,000 crore of black money is said to be in circulation. Except for the farmers, it is the politicians and the real estate lobby that is benefitting and the ill-gotten wealth is being siphoned off to Mauritius,” said Sharma.

Sharma has written a letter in which he said that in 29 villages of the new capital region, land had been acquired at Rs 10 lakh per acre.

“After the area was announced as the new capital region, prices have skyrocketed. An enquiry should be ordered into the whole episode,” requested Sharma.

“Initially when the name of Donakonda in Prakasam district was doing the rounds for the new capital area, a politician bought hundreds of acres there. With Donakonda losing out in the race, the disappointment and subsequent transactions have even led to the murder of a person,” added Sharma.

Will the government respond to the issues raised by Sharma?
