Rumours: Christopher Nolan May Join Nitesh Tiwari’s Ramayana Project

There is growing speculation that acclaimed Hollywood director Christopher Nolan and cinematographer Hoyte van Hoytema might be involved in the final edit of Nitesh Tiwari’s ambitious Ramayana adaptation, though nothing has been officially confirmed.

The rumours have ignited widespread discussion across social media and entertainment circles. Industry insiders point out that the idea is plausible, particularly since producer Namit Malhotra’s VFX company, DNEG, has contributed to several of Nolan’s major Hollywood films. This connection fuels hopes that a formal collaboration could elevate the global appeal of the Indian epic.

On the other hand, Nolan is reportedly fully occupied with his upcoming project The Odyssey, slated for a July 2026 release, which could limit his availability and creative involvement.

If Namit Malhotra does succeed in bringing Nolan on board, even in a limited capacity, it would mark a major milestone for Ramayana, potentially turning it into a truly global cinematic event. Such a move could significantly heighten international anticipation well ahead of its planned Diwali 2026 release.
