As expected, former Telugu Desam Party spokesperson Sadineni Yamini on Saturday joined the Bharatiya Janata Party at Kadapa along with several other ex-TDP leaders.
Yamini donned the saffron khanduwa in the presence of Union water resources minster Gajendra Singh Shekawat.
She was introduced to the Union minister by TDP leaders-turned-BJP leaders Sujana Chowdary and C Adinarayana Reddy.
Yamini, who was one of the most attractive and active faces of the TDP spokespersons till the last assembly elections, resigned from the party after its miserable show in the elections. She cited personal reasons for his resignation.
Though she did not make any direct comments against TDP president and former chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu, she expressed view that the TDP was not an exception for encouraging dynasty politics, thereby hinting that she was not happy with the encouragement of Lokesh as Naidu’s successor.
Yamini used to make frequent appearances in the television channels and social media before the elections, but after the TDP’s miserable show, she started keeping away from the TDP activities.
She has also become inactive on the social media. She also did not attend any party meetings after that.
Before quitting the TDP, she had met BJP state president Kanna Lakshminarayana at a meeting, leading to the talk that she might join the saffron party.
