Bollywood superstar Salman Khan announced on Monday that his upcoming UK tour has been postponed following the tragic terror attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir. The actor was set to perform in Manchester and London on May 4 and 5 as part of The Bollywood Big One shows, alongside a star-studded lineup including Madhuri Dixit Nene, Tiger Shroff, Varun Dhawan, Kriti Sanon, Sara Ali Khan, Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, and Maniesh Paul.
Taking to Instagram, Salman expressed his sadness and explained that he and his team had made the decision to postpone the shows out of respect for the victims of the recent attack. “In light of the recent tragic events in Kashmir, and with profound sadness, we have taken the difficult decision to request the promoters to postpone The Bollywood Big One shows, originally scheduled for May 4th and 5th in Manchester and London,” Salman wrote.
While acknowledging the excitement and anticipation of his fans, Salman emphasized that it was important to pause during such a time of grief. He also extended his apologies for any inconvenience caused and expressed gratitude for the understanding and support of his fans. The statement assured that new dates for the performances would be announced soon.
Salman Khan was among the many Bollywood personalities who condemned the horrific attack in Pahalgam, which claimed the lives of 26 people, mostly tourists. “Kashmir, heaven on earth turning into hell. Innocent people being targeted, my heart goes out to their families. Ek bhi innocent ko marna puri kainath ko marne ke barabar hai (Killing even one innocent person is equivalent to killing the whole universe),” he said in his heartfelt message.
