On the intervening of September 28, 2002, a drunk Salman Khan rammed his car into a roadside shop in suburban Bandra, killing one person and injuring four people who were sleeping on the pavement. The 13 years old came haunting Salman Khan till today and finally a Mumbai Sessions Court awarded him with 5 years rigoroos jail term.
Salman Khan had fielded a fake witness, Ashok Singh, his driver who admitted that it is he who drove the car that night. But the judge refused to believe it and decided that it was Salman who drove the car under the influence and with out a license.
Ashok Singh was also reprimanded for trying to fool the court. Salman Khan was shocked by the sentence as it was pronounced, sits down and breaks down into tears The case was booked under Section 304 Part II (culpable homicide not amounting to murder) and the maximum jail term in such case will be up to 10 years imprisonment.
On the other side, Salman Khan’s case of hunting the rare Blackbucks 16 years ago is also nearing completion.
