Samantha Ruth Prabhu Opens Up About Her Strict Diet and Lifestyle Choices

Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu, a self-confessed food lover, has completely transformed her eating habits in recent years to prioritize her health.

In a candid conversation with celebrity nutrition coach Ryan Fernando, Samantha revealed, “My diet is a bit strict,” adding that her current lifestyle is very different from her teenage years when she could eat anything without gaining weight.

Things changed drastically after she was diagnosed with myositis, a rare autoimmune condition that affects the muscles. Since then, Samantha has embraced a strict anti-inflammatory diet, eliminating foods that do not suit her body.

“There are no cheat days for me. I don’t think I’ve had a cheat day in years,” she admitted, stressing that discipline is essential to managing her health.

While many people sympathize with her restricted meal plan, Samantha insists she has come to enjoy it. “People keep feeling sorry for my diet! But for me, it’s a way of life now. I genuinely love what I eat. Offer me a doughnut — no offence, but I just can’t. I don’t crave those foods anymore,” she said.

Her diet revolves around simple, organic meals with minimal variety, which she believes helps reduce decision fatigue.

A glance at her kitchen staples includes cruciferous vegetables like broccoli and cauliflower, healthy fats such as ghee and cold-pressed oils, along with turmeric, celery, and acai berries. Gluten is strictly off her shopping list, and interestingly, she avoids spinach and kale because they don’t suit her system.

“My biggest flex is my biomarkers,” Samantha added, emphasizing that her disciplined approach to food, regular workouts, and mindful lifestyle choices have become the foundation of her health and well-being.
