Tamil Nadu’s capital and the economic and cultural epicenter of the state, Chennai, has been devastated by flash floods that have been creating a havoc across the city and several other parts of the state over the last couple of weeks. Transportation and communication systems have taken a bad hit due to incessant rains.
In addition to the government’s relief measures, Tamil film stars have been chipping in to rehabilitate the flood affected victims. While star hero Suriya donated 25 lakhs through his foundation, Vishal offered 10 lakhs and Dhanush gave away 5 lakhs respectively.
Following suit is our own Tollywood crazy hero Burning Star Sampoornesh Babu. This morning, Sampoo took to his Twitter page to announce his contribution of Rs 50,000 towards the Chennai cyclone relief measures.
Sampoo also reminded how Tamil stars generously contributed during the Hudhud cyclone in Vizag last year and requested the Telugu film industry to help the Chennai flood victims with a noble heart. Let us hope that Sampoo’s modest contribution and appeal will inspire other Tollywood stars.
