Making her debut long ago with Jhummandi Naadam (2010), Delhi-born beauty Taapsee Pannu hasn’t had a major hit in the Telugu film industry. Despite delivering strong performances and adding plenty of glamour, blockbuster success in Telugu cinema has eluded her. However, in Bollywood, her journey has been very different. Known for her hard work and versatility, Taapsee has carved a niche for herself as both a performer and a glamorous star. She has also gained widespread recognition through successful OTT films like Haseen Dilruba and others.

Recently, in an interview with a Bollywood portal, Taapsee opened up about the PR strategies that dominate the film industry. “PR is not just about promoting ourselves; sometimes, it involves pulling others down. That’s really unfortunate, and it happens all the time,” she said. Taapsee made it clear that she doesn’t want to engage in such practices, preferring to be remembered for her body of work rather than manufactured publicity.

Interestingly, this issue isn’t limited to Bollywood. Telugu actors like Kiran Abbavaram have also raised concerns, pointing out that some PR teams attempt to undermine other actors to keep their own star relevant. However, Taapsee believes that in today’s era, such PR-driven fame is short-lived, as audiences are increasingly savvy and form their own opinions on social media rather than relying on engineered narratives.
