Samsung Electronics has officially launched One UI 8, its next-generation software update for Galaxy devices, marking a major step forward in integrating artificial intelligence into everyday mobile experiences.

The update debuts first on the Galaxy S25 series, followed by the Galaxy S24 lineup, Galaxy Z Fold6, Galaxy Z Flip6, and Galaxy S24 FE, with additional compatible devices set to receive it later this year.

One UI 8 leverages multimodal AI, enabling devices to process visual, auditory, and contextual inputs simultaneously. This technology powers features such as Gemini Live for real-time communication and context-aware responses, Circle to Search with Google for instant information retrieval, and Now Bar/Now Brief for delivering real-time updates, reminders, and app activity insights.

Security receives a significant boost with Knox Enhanced Encrypted Protection (KEEP) for app-specific secure storage, Knox Matrix for automatic account sign-outs when risks are detected, and upgraded Secure Wi-Fi with post-quantum cryptography (PQC) to safeguard against future cyber threats.

The interface has been optimised for smartphones, tablets, and foldables, offering productivity-focused tools like AI Results View for Split or Floating View display, enhanced Multi Window functionality for drag-and-drop workflows, and creative aids such as Drawing Assist and Writing Assist. Personalisation options have also been expanded with new FlexWindow wallpapers, emoji customisation, clock designs, and Liquid Glass effects for watch faces and widgets.

Samsung emphasises that One UI 8 represents its commitment to “AI democratisation,” aiming to bring powerful, privacy-focused AI tools to millions of users worldwide.
