The collections for “Sarrainodu” in USA in its first weekend are pretty average. Although the movie has picked up its tally compared to its dull premiere shows, the film will still be a big loss venture for its overseas distributors.Allu Arjun has two one-million dollars movies in USA territory in his credit. “Rudramadevi” in which he played a lengthy guest role also collected 970k dollars. Hence the distributors bought the rights of “Sarrainodu” for unreasonable price of about Rs 5.5 Cr.
If the film has to bring profits to the overseas distributor, “Sarrainodu” should bring in 1.60 Million dollars in USA.In its first weekend, the movie has grossed about 650k dollars and it may add another 150k to 200k in its lifetime. So the distributors will end up with nearly 40 percent losses.
Since the movie is a mass entertainer, the movie’s prospects at USA box-office are limited. Still, the distributors made a gamble and it is not paying up.
