Veteran Tamil actor Sathyaraj has sparked a fresh discussion with his remarks following Andhra Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan’s recent visit to Tamil Nadu. Pawan Kalyan, while attending an event, stressed the need to protect Dharma and the Hindu community, claiming that Hindu society faces growing threats across India.
His strong statement quickly became a talking point across South Indian political circles and prompted a pointed response from Sathyaraj. Without directly naming him, Sathyaraj countered Pawan Kalyan’s remarks, making it clear that no one seeking to politicize the Hindu faith in Tamil Nadu would be welcomed.
Sathyaraj further asserted that Tamil Nadu’s long-standing Periyar culture is more than capable of safeguarding its traditions without outside interference. “There is absolutely no need for external political influence when it comes to protecting Dharma and Hindu culture in Tamil Nadu,” he emphasized.
Although Sathyaraj never mentioned Pawan Kalyan by name, his remarks leave little doubt that he was addressing the deputy chief minister’s comments — underlining that Tamil Nadu does not require outside figures to advocate on its behalf.
