SC Declines to Take Suo Moto Cognisance of Gorakhpur Hospital Tragedy

Considering the scale of trolling unfolding on social media, the backlash now seems inevitable. After Raja Saab hit theatres, director Maruthi did not face immediate criticism. This was largely due to back-to-back Sankranti releases that kept audience attention diverted. It was only after a few days that criticism slowly began shifting in his direction.

However, the real storm erupted following the film’s OTT release. As soon as the movie began streaming, screenshots and video clips flooded social media platforms. While a section of users criticised Prabhas’ looks, the majority of the backlash was directed squarely at director Maruthi.

Many viewers felt that Prabhas’ performance in several scenes fell short of expectations. Some netizens even pointed out the alleged use of body doubles, while others highlighted weak graphics and noticeable visual flaws. Yet, the strongest criticism was aimed at Maruthi’s writing.
